THE BEARS WAY
Coventry Bears, the way we work towards a legacy for the sport in coventry
Coventry Bears mission is to provide an enjoyable, safe and fun Rugby League experience for all participants, coaches, volunteers and parents.
At Coventry Bears we focus on:
1. Fun. All involved with the club should enjoy themselves.
2. Safety. Everyone should feel safe at the Bears.
3. Development. Our aim is to develop the talents and skills of all involved.
4. Experience. We provide quality experiences that will last a lifetime.
We are NOT a professional sports club, winning is NOT everything; we seek to develop the talents of all involved so they leave the club a better person, player, coach, administrator or volunteer.
Juniors - we offer a 3 month training programme every year in the summer months to develop skills and rugby confidence. Matches and festivals are important but the main focus is the quality of the weekly training and skill development.
Open Age Men & Women - we provide a 4 - 5 month programme (depending on play off participation) of competitive matches and training over the late Spring and Summer. The focus is on a competitive and enjoyable environment.
Come along and see if you wish to join the Bears this year, parents and players of any age can come along to a session and see what its all about anytime.
(Please note: we are not a rugby club with a dedicated league format for junior players our focus is to offer rugby league in the best format for each age group each summer the best way we can, this is focused on training and participation in festivals and fixtures if we can set these up each year)
Create a legacy to remember
We want to create a legacy and create history so we can look back and see that we have made a difference and been successful in growing the sport of rugby league in Coventry.
Our motto is simple, it is "in this together" as we believe that if everyone is moving forward together then success will follow and take care of itself!
Please do not bring negative behaviour or sports club politics to the Bears any parent, player or coach doing so, may be asked to leave the club.
Please use the hashtag #inthistogether while supporting, playing or engaging with us.
Alan Robinson the clubs founder and chairman can be contacted via alan.robinson@coventrybears.co.uk if you wish to discuss anything in confidence to do with the club.
