This Good Friday, Coventry Bears will launch our season in rugby league's new era when we take on Oxford at 3pm at the Butts Park Arena.

The match signifies the launch of professional rugby league in the city and the beginning of an exciting era for the sport nationally.

Coventry Bears Managing Director Alan Robinson spoke of his pride in everyone associated with the club.

"This is a particularly proud time for me and indeed all the other coaches, players, staff and volunteers associated with the club. I would like to thank everyone associated with us for their hard work over the past 10 months. Everything will come to fruition tomorrow and we are all very excited to get off to a good start. We have a big family day out planned and have marketed the club to a whole new audience. We have had a Challenge cup tour this week in schools every day with our new mascot "Big Blue" the Bear and I am hopeful we will have a bumper crowd come to cheer us on"

Entry to tomorrows match on the gate is £10 adults, £8 concessions and £2 for children.
