Coventry Bears Host European City of Sport and Local Businesses

On Good Friday Coventry Bears will host a European City of Sport Takeover event for local businesses. This provides an opportunity for businesses to come and get involved in sport, learn more about the impact Coventry Bears and Rugby League has had on the local community and how they can get involved in the excitement and build up to the Rugby League World Cup in 2021.

Coventry Bears Chief Executive Alan Robinson said;

“We are delighted to welcome local companies from around the city to today's European City of Sport takeover match. It will be an opportunity for everyone to find out more about what we do in the community with our Junior club, and very successful Try Tag Rugby activity. There will also be the opportunity for businesses to network and socialise at the Bears and experience a live Betfred League One match as we take on our old rivals London Skolars”

Tickets are free for local businesses to attend the Networking event from 12pm with colleagues encouraged to have a go at Tag Rugby and attend a presentation from the Bears and European City of Sport to find out more about getting active.

The event is centred around:

·  Socialising with work colleagues and local businesses at our free networking event from 12pm.

·  Learning about the Rugby League World Cup 2021 in England, the sport of rugby league and the impact it has had on the City.

·  Trying Tag Rugby with Coventry Bears before the Bears play London Skolars in Betfred League One.
