Coventry Bears launch our Junior Club in May with contact training at the Xcel Leisure centre every Friday night from 6.30pm.
In 2019 we will be running age groups training at:
Primary Age Groups
Under 7 (School year 1 & 2)
Under 8 (School year 3)
Under 9 (School year 4)
Secondary Age Groups
Under 11 (School year 5 & 6)
Under 13 (School year 7 & 8)
Under 15 (School year 9 & 10)
All youngsters are welcome to come along for their first session for free to see if they enjoy it and thereafter look to join as a member.
Important information for parents:
Our coaches are all DBS Checked and verified with Rugby League qualifications and years of experience coaching teams and in the community.
Membership costs £50 for the summer which lasts from May 3rd to 19th July. (This is a set fee with no pay to train option available)
Members get a Free training t-shirt with other Bears Junior kit available to purchase through a local supplier if you wish to purchase.
Other clubs in the Midlands will be hosting junior festivals with dates listed below. (Festivals are engagement based so having full teams is not critical to participation - currently U11’s, U13’s and U15’s)

What does training consist of?
Training consists of skills, drills and contact rugby league games designed for enjoyment and engagement in the sport and all run by experienced Rugby League players and coaches.
What do festivals consist of?
Festivals consist of games and participation at various locations around the midlands region.
What kit and equipment does my child need to take part?
We suggest that kids bring a gum shield, rugby or football boots and a water bottle with water to each session. Basic rugby kit or a strong t-shirt and shorts is appropriate but if raining please ensure your child has a light rain jacket or an extra dry top with them.
Kit and Leisurewear to purchase?
This year we will have Bears light rugby jerseys available to purchase for Juniors and parents with a basic selection of other items.
Does my child have to register?
Your child does have to register with LeagueNet which is the RFL Registration portal (after their first session), this is so the governing body, the RFL can monitor participation nationally in the sport.
How do I register my child?
Please click here to register to your child on LeagueNet. This will take a few minutes and you will need a digital photograph of your child to upload.
How do I pay for registration?
You can pay online whilst registering on LeagueNet or you can pay via PayPal, cash or on debit/credit card at a Friday evening session.
Is medical cover supplied at training and festivals?
Medical cover is supplied by host clubs and first aid cover provided on training nights by trained coaching staff.
