Coventry Bears Become Embed The Pathway Partners
Coventry Bears are delighted to have recently become accredited as an England Rugby League Player Development Partner through the Embed the Pathway programme.
Through this programme the Bears will run Embed the Pathway Coaching CPD for community coaches in Coventry and the Midlands as well as hosting development days for players in the age groups of U12's to U14's.
‘Embed the Pathway’ is a coaching programme supported by Gillette that aims to increase the number of quality 12-14 year old Rugby League players through the education and training of children's coaches. It is the belief of the RFL Performance Department and Gillette that every young player from 12 years old is on the England Talent Pathway. This “scheme of work” is a programme of Coach Education, Inclusive Player Profiling and 24 sessions that can be used and adapted to meet the needs of young players at any stage.
Commenting on the Bears becoming an accredited partner Community Manager Conor Kelly said "We are proud to be part of the Embed the Pathway programme and to be the main partner in the Midlands. ETP is a brilliant programme for not only developing coaches through Continuous Professional Development Days but also in developing players as they will receive a higher level of coaching than before."
"We are looking forward to engaging with the community game through this programme and we feel it is a step forward for the game in the midlands as it now makes the programme more accessible to more people."
